• Anupama Kumar was cast as Vijay's sister in Thuppakki (2012) only after the director AR Murugadoss saw her in a Malayalam film. She had zero Tamil film experience before that call.
• In Thuppakki, Manobala played the comedic uncle while Anupama played the serious sister. Their scenes together had zero overlap — they never shared a single frame in the film. The 'pairing' was entirely off-screen.
• Manobala personally recommended Anupama for a role in Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva (2017) after the director struggled to find an actress who could play a mother to a grown-up son convincingly. She got the part because he vouched for her.
• Their third film Thirumanam (2019) was the only one where they actually acted together in a scene — a wedding sequence. That scene was shot in one take because both were theatre veterans and refused to break character.
