• Rahul Bose was cast in Vishwaroop after Kamal Haasan saw him in the Hindi film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer. Kamal personally called Rahul and said, 'I need you for a role that requires a certain stillness.' Rahul later said he said yes without reading the full script.
• On the set of Vishwaroop, Kamal Haasan would often ask Rahul Bose to improvise his dialogue in English. Kamal felt Rahul's natural rhythm in English gave the character a cold, intellectual edge that a Tamil actor couldn't have brought. Rahul's lines in the film are almost entirely his own.
• During the long gap between Vishwaroopam and Vishwaroopam II, Kamal and Rahul stayed in touch through late-night phone calls about world cinema. Rahul once said Kamal would call him at 1 AM to discuss a Kurosawa scene. They never hung out socially, but they had a running joke about who could recommend the more obscure film.
• Rahul Bose said about Kamal: 'He is the only director I've worked with who would act out my entire scene for me, then step back and say, 'Now do it worse.' He wanted me to find my own version, not copy his.'
• Because of their collaboration in Vishwaroop, Rahul Bose got cast in the Tamil film Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren (2018). The director said he cast Rahul specifically because he saw the 'quiet menace' Rahul brought opposite Kamal. That film wouldn't have happened without the Vishwaroop pairing.
