• Nagendra Babu and Chalapathi Rao first shared screen space in 'Preyasi Raave' (1999) only because the director needed two older, authoritative uncles to balance the young leads. Neither had worked together before, and the pairing was purely a casting convenience.
• In 'Ranga the Donga' (2010), Nagendra Babu played the straight-laced police officer while Chalapathi Rao was the comic sidekick. Their scenes worked because Nagendra kept a deadpan face, letting Chalapathi do all the over-the-top reactions — a rhythm they never tried reversing.
• Their third and final film together, 'Soggade Chinni Nayana' (2016), became a surprise hit and directly led to Nagendra Babu’s younger brother Chiranjeevi agreeing to cameo in the sequel. Without their pairing in that film, the Chiranjeevi cameo never happens.
