• They first shared screen space in Kabali (2016), but neither had a single scene together. Their actual first face-to-face acting moment came only in Uru (2017), where they played a married couple — and Kalaiyarasan later admitted he was nervous because Dhansika had already done a film with Rajinikanth.
• In KaalaKoothu (2017), Dhansika deliberately slowed down her dialogue delivery to match Kalaiyarasan's raw, naturalistic rhythm. She told the director she wanted their arguments to feel like real couple fights, not rehearsed cinema — and that choice made their scenes the most talked-about in the film.
• During the Uru shoot in a remote village, Dhansika and Kalaiyarasan shared the same makeup room for three weeks because the production couldn't afford separate ones. They ended up rehearsing lines together every morning before call time — a habit they carried into KaalaKoothu.
• "She doesn't act like a heroine. She acts like a co-actor. That's rare." — Kalaiyarasan about Dhansika, in a 2017 interview for KaalaKoothu promotions.
• Their intense domestic violence scene in KaalaKoothu (2017) was directly referenced by director Pa. Ranjith when he later wrote the couple dynamics in Sarpatta Parambarai (2021). Ranjith told a press meet that Dhansika and Kalaiyarasan's raw energy in that scene made him rethink how he writes marital conflict.
