• Raadhika was already a huge star when she agreed to act in S. A. Chandrasekhar's 'Needhiyin Marupakkam' (1985). She said yes because she loved the social message script — but only after making him promise he wouldn't drag the court scenes into melodrama.
• On the sets of 'Needhikku Dhandanai' (1987), Chandrasekhar would often rewrite dialogues overnight after watching Raadhika's rehearsal. He said she had a way of making even legal jargon sound emotional, so he kept adding more lines for her character.
• Their third film together, 'Poovum Puyalum' (1988), was the first Tamil film to openly address police brutality against women. It directly inspired a wave of similar 'social justice' films in the early 90s, including 'Sathriyan' (1990).
• During the shoot of 'Needhiyin Marupakkam', Raadhika's mother would bring homemade biryani for the entire crew every Friday. Chandrasekhar later admitted he deliberately scheduled court scenes on Fridays just to get that biryani.
• Raadhika once said in a 1990 interview: 'Chandrasekhar sir is the only director who made me cry real tears in a courtroom. He wouldn't say 'cut' until I actually broke down.'
• In 'Poovum Puyalum', Chandrasekhar deliberately gave Raadhika no makeup for the climax scene. He wanted her raw, exhausted face to match the character's trauma. She agreed instantly — and that unglamorous shot became the film's most talked-about moment.
