• Sripriya was already a star when she agreed to work with newcomer T. N. Balu in 'Nallathukku Kalamillai' (1977). She personally asked the director to cast Balu after seeing his stage work — she felt he had a raw energy that no other hero had at the time.
• In 'Odi Vilayadu Thatha' (1977), Balu would deliberately flub his lines during rehearsals to make Sripriya laugh. She then used that real irritation in her performance — the on-screen bickering between them was half real, half scripted.
• During the shoot of 'Sattam En Kaiyil' (1978), Sripriya and Balu had a standing bet: whoever forgot their lines first had to buy the entire crew dinner. Balu lost every single day for two weeks. He never complained.
• Their three-film run directly launched Balu's career as a leading man. Before Sripriya vouched for him, he was only getting villain roles. After 'Nallathukku Kalamillai', he got five hero offers in six months.
