• Santhanam and Vinay Rai first shared screen space in 'Modhi Vilayadu' (2009) because the director wanted a fresh comic foil for the hero — Santhanam was already a rising comedian, and Vinay was a new villain. They ended up improvising their confrontation scene on set, which the director kept in the final cut.
• In 'Endrendrum Punnagai' (2013), Santhanam’s rapid-fire one-liners forced Vinay Rai to slow down his delivery — Vinay later said in an interview that Santhanam’s timing made him rethink his own rhythm, and he started pausing for laughs instead of rushing through his lines.
• Their horror-comedy 'Aranmanai' (2014) was such a hit that it directly spawned a sequel franchise — 'Aranmanai 2' (2016) and 'Aranmanai 3' (2021) — but Santhanam and Vinay never appeared together in any of the sequels. The franchise moved on without their pairing.
