• Sridevi was already a huge star in Tamil when she signed 'Sigappu Rojakkal' (1978). But Bhagyaraj was a newcomer. She insisted on working with him after seeing his raw energy in a stage play — and even recommended him to the director.
• In 'Sigappu Rojakkal', Bhagyaraj played a psychopath who kills women. Sridevi’s character was his victim. But on set, she was the one who calmed him down between takes — he was so deep in the role that he’d stay silent for hours. She’d crack jokes to pull him out of it.
