• Krishnan-Panju cast Vanisri in 'Uyarndha Manidhan' (1968) after seeing her in a small Telugu film. She was barely 18 and had no Tamil experience. They made her dub her own lines, which she learned phonetically — and that film became her breakthrough in Tamil cinema.
• On the set of 'Annaiyum Pithavum' (1969), Vanisri would often rewrite her own dialogue in simpler Tamil because she felt the original script was too literary. Krishnan-Panju let her do it — they trusted her ear for what would land with audiences more than their own writing.
• Vanisri later said Krishnan-Panju treated her like a daughter on set. After 'Ilaya Thalaimurai' (1977), she stopped working with them entirely — not because of a fight, but because she shifted focus to family. They never worked together again.
• Vanisri once told an interviewer: 'Krishnan-Panju gave me my first Tamil hit. I didn't even know the language properly, but they never made me feel like an outsider.' She said this in a 1980s TV interview, looking back at 'Uyarndha Manidhan'.
• The success of 'Uyarndha Manidhan' (1968) directly led to Vanisri being cast in 'Thirumal Perumai' (1968) — a film that cemented her as a leading lady. Without that first Krishnan-Panju film, she might never have gotten that role.
