• Shiva was a first-time director with no hits. Nithin Sathya was an unknown actor. They met at a mutual friend's wedding and decided to make a film about local street cricket. That film became Chennai 600028 (2007) — the movie that launched both their careers.
• On the sets of Chennai 600028, Shiva would write dialogues in the morning and Nithin would improvise them on the spot. Nithin's natural, slang-heavy delivery became the film's signature style. Shiva later said Nithin's improvisations made the film feel like a real documentary.
