• Director Samuthirakanani cast M.S. Bhaskar and Namo Narayana together in 'Kaaval' (2015) because he wanted two actors who could play silent, weathered men — and he knew they'd never try to out-act each other. Bhaskar later said Samuthirakani told him: 'You both have the same tired eyes.'
• In 'Guru Uchaththula Irukkaru' (2017), Bhaskar and Narayana built their entire comic rhythm around who could stay silent longer. Narayana would start a sentence, then stop — and Bhaskar would finish it with a deadpan look. The director let them improvise 70% of their dialogue that way.
• Their double-act in 'Naadodigal 2' (2020) directly inspired the 'two old friends bickering in a tea shop' trope that became a mini-trend in 2021-2022 Tamil indie films — at least three low-budget directors have admitted they wrote similar scenes after watching that film.

• Namo Narayana once said about Bhaskar: 'He doesn't act with you. He just stands there and lets you react to his face. That's harder than any dialogue.' He said this during a 2022 interview about 'Oru Thavaru Seidhal'.
