• Soori was a struggling comedian when director M. Muthaiah cast him as the lead in Poraali (2011). Namo Narayana was a newcomer too. They bonded over being outsiders in the industry and decided to stick together — that film put both on the map.
• In Rajini Murugan (2016), Soori’s comic timing set the rhythm for Namo Narayana’s deadpan reactions. Namo would deliberately pause his lines to let Soori’s physical comedy land — a trick they perfected over four films.
