• Sivakarthikeyan and Soori first met on the sets of Manam Kothi Paravai (2012). Sivakarthikeyan was a TV host making his acting debut. Soori was a stand-up comic trying to break into films. The director, J. S. Nandhini, paired them as friends on screen because they both had zero ego and natural timing. Neither had a film credit before that day.
• In Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam (2013), Soori improvised a whole scene where his character tries to impress a girl by singing off-key. Sivakarthikeyan saw it and started feeding him wrong lyrics mid-shot. The director kept the take. That unscripted back-and-forth became the template for every film they did after.
• Rajini Murugan (2016) was the film that made both of them bankable stars. Before that, Sivakarthikeyan was a rising hero and Soori was a sidekick. After that film's release, Soori started getting his own solo lead offers. The film's success directly launched Soori's career as a mainstream actor.
• On the sets of Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga (2013), Soori used to sleep in Sivakarthikeyan's van because he couldn't afford a hotel room. Sivakarthikeyan never told anyone. He just told the driver to leave the AC on. Soori found out years later and said in an interview that he cried that night.

• In Namma Veettu Pillai (2019), Soori's character was written as a loud, clumsy sidekick. But during rehearsals, Sivakarthikeyan told the director to make Soori's role quieter. He said: 'Let him react with his eyes, not his mouth. That's his real strength.' Soori's performance in that film got him a separate fan base for deadpan comedy.
