• Soori was a struggling comedian when G. Gnanasambandam cast him in Poraali (2011). The director saw him in a small TV skit and offered him the role without an audition. That film put Soori on the map as a reliable comic actor.
• On the sets of Rajini Murugan (2016), Gnanasambandam let Soori improvise most of his dialogue. Soori would rewrite his lines the night before, and the director would only step in if the joke broke character. That freedom gave us the scene where Soori’s character fakes a heart attack — still quoted in Tamil meme groups.
