• They first met on the set of the TV show 'Office Office' in the early 2000s. Mishra played the long-suffering clerk; Pandey played a recurring client. The director of the 2011 film 'Chala Mussaddi... Office Office' liked their TV chemistry so much he built the entire movie around their pairing.
• In 'Mr Black Mr White' (2019), Mishra played a blind man and Pandey played his caretaker. Mishra insisted on actually wearing opaque contact lenses during every take. Pandey had to physically guide him through scenes without breaking character — their real-life trust became the movie's entire visual language.
• They share a running joke: every time they finish a film, Pandey gifts Mishra a new pair of sunglasses. Mishra has a collection of over 30 pairs from Pandey, one for each project they've done together — including the disastrous 'Prakash Electronic' (2017).
• Mishra once said in an interview: 'Hemant is the only actor who can make me forget my lines. He'll do something so unexpected that I just stand there laughing. We had to do 14 retakes of one scene in Kya Masti Kya Dhoom because I kept breaking character.'
• Their 2019 hit 'Mr Black Mr White' directly inspired a 2022 Marathi remake called 'Andhali Kusti'. The remake's director said in a press note that he cast the lead duo specifically because he wanted 'the same blind-man-and-guide energy that Mishra and Pandey had'.
