• They first worked together in Desh Premee (1982) only because the original leading lady, Parveen Babi, walked out of the film mid-shoot. Sharmila stepped in at the last minute, and Amitabh later said her professionalism saved the production.
• In Viruddh (2005), Amitabh deliberately slowed down his usual rapid-fire dialogue delivery to match Sharmila's softer, more measured rhythm. He told the director that her natural restraint would make his outbursts hit harder — and it worked.
