• Sanjay Kapoor was the one who got Saif Ali Khan into Darna Mana Hai. Sanjay was already on board as a producer, and he personally called Saif to offer him the role. Saif said yes without even reading the full script.
• In Kal Ho Naa Ho, Saif and Sanjay played best friends on screen. Off screen, they had a running joke: Saif would deliberately mess up his lines in the first take just to make Sanjay laugh. Sanjay would then lose his composure, and they'd have to reshoot.
• During the shoot of LOC Kargil, both actors shared a tiny army tent for two weeks. Sanjay later said Saif snored so loudly that he started sleeping outside the tent with the soldiers. Saif denied it, but the crew backed Sanjay up.
• Sanjay Kapoor once said in an interview: 'Saif and I have this weird thing — we never plan to work together, but every time we do, the film becomes a hit. Kal Ho Naa Ho was the biggest example.'
• Because of their easy camaraderie in Kal Ho Naa Ho, director Nikhil Advani started writing a buddy comedy specifically for them. That script never got made, but it inspired Advani to later cast Saif and another actor in Salaam-e-Ishq.
