• Guddu Dhanoa cast Akshay Kumar in Elaan (1994) after seeing his raw energy in a small role — but the film almost didn't happen because Akshay was still a newcomer with no box office pull. Dhanoa bet his entire directorial debut on him.
• In Tu Chor Main Sipahi (1996), Akshay did most of his own stunts — jumping off moving trains and fighting on rooftops — while Dhanoa shot them in single takes to capture real fear. That raw, unpolished action became their signature together.
