• Riteish Deshmukh and Milap Zaveri first teamed up for Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai (2010) because Milap, then a dialogue writer, wanted to prove he could direct a comedy. Riteish agreed to star only after Milap promised him a role that wasn't just a sidekick — their first film together was essentially a bet between friends.
• On the set of Mastizaade (2016), Riteish would rewrite Milap's punchlines on the spot. Milap later admitted that Riteish's improvisation saved the film from being even worse — but the final cut still bombed because the director couldn't say no to the actor's wilder ideas.
• Marjaavaan (2019) was the only film in their trio that worked at the box office. Its success directly led to Milap Zaveri getting the green light for his next project, the 2022 action film Ek Villain Returns — which Riteish did not star in. Their partnership ended right after their first hit.
