• Anita Raj was the one who suggested Sanjay Dutt for 'Jaan Ki Baazi' (1985). The director wanted a different actor, but she pushed for Sanjay after meeting him at a party. That film became their first pairing.
• On the sets of 'Mera Haque' (1986), Sanjay Dutt kept forgetting his lines. Anita Raj would quietly feed him his next dialogue from behind the camera during close-ups. The director let it slide because it saved time.
