• Senthil was a stage actor when Viji spotted him at a drama rehearsal. Viji insisted on casting him in Saatchi (1983) over the producer's choice — a more established comedian. That film became Senthil's big break.
• On the sets of Nalla Naal (1984), Viji would write dialogue in the morning and hand it to Senthil, who then improvised half of it on the spot. Viji later said Senthil's timing saved scenes that were flat on paper.
• During the shoot of Raja Veetu Kannukutti (1984), Senthil and Viji shared a room in a lodge near the location. They'd stay up past midnight rewriting the climax together — Viji typed, Senthil paced and fed him lines.
• Viji once told a magazine: 'Senthil doesn't just act my lines — he finds the joke I didn't know was there.' He said this while promoting Nalla Naal in 1984.
• The success of their three-film run convinced Viji to write more comedy-heavy scripts in the mid-80s, directly influencing the tone of his later hit 'Oomai Vizhigal' (1986) — which had no Senthil but borrowed their fast-paced banter style.
