• Kareena and Fardeen first worked together in Khushi (2003) because director Surya Sivakumar specifically wanted a fresh, young pair for the Hindi remake of his own Tamil hit. He picked them both without any screen test.
• In Fida (2004), Kareena played the femme fatale who manipulates Fardeen's character. She later admitted she had to constantly push him to match her intensity in their confrontational scenes — he was too nice, she had to make him angry.
• During the shoot of Dev (2004), Kareena and Fardeen became close friends off-screen. They would often drive together to the set in Fardeen's car, and Kareena later said he was the only co-star who never once made her feel uncomfortable.
