• Suresh and Nadhiya first paired up in Pookalai Parikatheergal (1986) because the director saw them at a mutual friend's wedding and decided they looked like a believable couple — no auditions, just a hunch.
• In Iniya Uravu Poothathu (1987), Nadhiya would deliberately flub her lines in the first take to make Suresh laugh — he'd then loosen up and deliver his best performance in the second take. The director kept this as their unspoken routine.
• Their 1987 film Poove Ilam Poove was the first Tamil movie to feature a song shot entirely in a single take — the duet 'Poo Vaasam' — and it became a trend that other hero-heroine pairs tried to copy for years.
• During the shoot of Poo Mazhai Pozhiyudhu (1987), Suresh and Nadhiya made a pact: if either of them got a marriage proposal during the film's run, they'd tell the other first. Neither did, but they kept checking in for months after release.
• Nadhiya once said in a 1991 interview: 'Suresh was the only co-star who never tried to upstage me. He'd actually step back in a scene if he felt my character needed the spotlight. That's rare in Tamil cinema.'
• In En Veedu En Kanavar (1990), their last film together, Suresh insisted on rewriting their confrontation scene because he felt Nadhiya's character was too weak. He added a line where she slaps him — it became the only scene audiences remember from that film.
