• Suresh was a rising star when he signed Velai (1998), but the film's director wanted a fresh face for the lead. Charlie, then an assistant director, convinced the director to cast Suresh by showing him a rough cut of Suresh's earlier work — and ended up playing the second lead himself.
• On the sets of Ennavale (2000), Charlie would rewrite his own lines on the spot to match Suresh's natural speech rhythm. Suresh, in turn, would pause mid-dialogue to let Charlie's comic timing land — a back-and-forth that made their scenes feel like real conversations.
• During the shoot of Junior Senior (2002), Suresh and Charlie shared a room in a budget lodge for three months. They'd rehearse scenes at 2 AM after the crew wrapped, often waking up the neighbours with their laughter.
