• Suresh and Sulakshana were paired together for the first time in 'Brimmacharigal' (1983) because the director wanted a fresh-looking couple who could play college students without makeup. Neither had a big hit before that film.
• In 'Idhu Enga Naadu' (1983), Suresh’s loud, physical comedy style forced Sulakshana to react with deadpan stillness — and that contrast became the running joke of the film. She later said she learned to time her pauses by watching him overact.
• During the shoot of 'Puthisali Paithiangal' (1983), Suresh and Sulakshana shared the same makeup van because the unit was short on space. They developed a habit of rehearsing the next day’s lines together while waiting for shots — something neither did with other co-stars.
• Sulakshana once told a magazine: 'Suresh made me laugh so much on set that the director had to cut takes. But he also made sure I never felt nervous — he’d whisper the dialogue if I forgot it.'
• Their fourth and final film together, 'Irandu Manam' (1985), was the first Tamil movie to feature a split-screen phone conversation between a couple — a technique later copied by several 90s rom-coms.
