• John Vijay was the one who pushed for Vijay Sethupathi to play Vedha in Vikram Vedha. The director Pushkar originally had a different actor in mind, but John, who was already cast as Simon, insisted that only Sethupathi could pull off that role. He literally went to Sethupathi's house and convinced him to say yes.
• In Vikram Vedha, John Vijay's Simon is the calm, coiled cop who sets the pace of every interrogation scene.
