→Trivia
- The film was directed by Anil Devgan, who is the brother of popular actor Ajay Devgn.
- It was a remake of the 1993 Tamil film 'Mahanadi', which was also remade in Telugu and Kannada.
- Actor Irrfan Khan, who played the villain Shekhar Mohan, was praised for his performance in a negative role.
- The movie's title 'Blackmail' refers to the emotional pressure the villain uses, not a financial ransom demand.
- Despite being an action thriller, the film focuses heavily on the emotional bond between the kidnapper and the child.
- The film underperformed at the box office compared to other thrillers released around the same time.
- Some scenes were shot at real racing locations to showcase the child's interest in car racing.
