• They first shared screen space in 'Dilwale' (1994) because Ajay Devgan personally recommended Sunil Shetty to director Harry Baweja. Ajay had already signed on, and he pushed for Sunil to play the second lead instead of another actor being considered.
• In 'Qayamat: City Under Threat' (2003), Ajay played the cold, calculating villain while Sunil was the righteous cop. They deliberately never rehearsed their confrontation scenes together — Ajay told Sunil he wanted the anger to feel raw and unpredictable on the first take.
