Fareb (transl. Deceit) is a 1996 Indian Hindi-language psychological thriller film directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film stars Faraaz Khan, Suman Ranganathan, and Milind Gunaji. It follows a successful surgeon and his wife whose lives are destroyed by a police officer who becomes obsessed with the wife. The officer uses his power to frame the husband for drug possession and murder. The film is a remake of the 1992 American film Unlawful Entry. It was a commercial success upon its release on 28 June 1996. The soundtrack, composed by Jatin–Lalit, was also popular.

Storyline

Dr. Rohan Verma and his wife Suman move to Bombay for his dream job. After a burglary, they befriend a helpful police officer named Inder. But Inder secretly becomes obsessed with Suman. He uses his power to frame Rohan for crimes and tries to rape Suman. Rohan must escape from jail to save his wife.
