Trivia

  • The film was originally titled 'Rahul' after the disabled brother character, but was changed before release.
  • Mahesh Manjrekar, known for intense dramas, also composed the film's music alongside Anand Raj Anand.
  • Actor Mohnish Bahl, who played the lead role, was not the first choice; the role was reportedly offered to others.
  • The movie's climax was shot in a single long schedule at a real care facility to maintain emotional continuity.
  • It underperformed at the box office, overshadowed by bigger Bollywood releases the same year like 'Lagaan'.
  • The script was partly inspired by real-life stories of caregivers dealing with disabled family members.
  • A subplot involving the neighbor Suman was trimmed in the final edit to keep the focus on the central conflict.
