Trivia

  • The film's title 'Rajaji' is a playful nod to the lead character's name Raja, combined with a common Hindi suffix for endearment or respect.
  • This was one of the few films where actor Govinda, known for his energetic dancing, played a character who is primarily lazy and scheming.
  • The movie was released during a period when Govinda was one of the biggest box office stars, but it did not achieve major commercial success.
  • Actress Raveena Tandon, who played Payal, was frequently paired with Govinda in the 1990s, making them a popular on-screen couple.
  • The plot's twist involving a lottery win mirrors a common trope in Hindi cinema of the era about sudden changes in fortune.
  • Director Vimal Kumar had previously worked with Govinda on the successful film 'Coolie No. 1', which also featured a deceptive romantic plot.
  • The film's soundtrack, composed by Anand-Milind, included a song picturized on Govinda and Raveena Tandon that did not become a major hit.
