• Raveena Tandon was the one who pushed for Shakti Kapoor to be cast in Andaz Apna Apna. The director Rajkumar Santoshi originally wanted a different actor for the role of Crime Master Gogo, but Raveena insisted Shakti would nail it. He did.
• On the sets of Andaz Apna Apna, Shakti Kapoor improvised most of his dialogue as Crime Master Gogo. Raveena would feed him random lines between takes, and he'd weave them into his performance. That's why their scenes together feel so loose and unscripted.
• The 'Crime Master Gogo' character from Andaz Apna Apna became so iconic that it directly inspired a whole generation of parody villains in Indian comedy films. Without Raveena and Shakti's back-and-forth in that film, you probably wouldn't have the over-the-top comic villains in later hits like Hera Pheri or Dhamaal.
• Despite the massive age gap and on-screen rivalry, Raveena and Shakti remained close friends off-screen. After Tune Mera Dil Le Liyaa flopped hard in 2000, Shakti called Raveena to cheer her up, saying, 'Beta, flop films don't define you. We'll do a better one next time.' They never did another hit together, but the friendship stuck.
• Shakti Kapoor once said in an interview: 'Raveena is the only actress who could make me laugh so hard I'd forget my lines. She'd do something silly, and I'd just break character. That's why our scenes in Andaz Apna Apna look so natural — because half of it was us genuinely laughing at each other.'
