• Their first film together, Deewana Mastana (1997), was originally meant to have a different leading lady. But after Raveena and Govinda shot a test scene, director David Dhawan locked them as the pair — and the film became a hit.
• Govinda once said Raveena was the only co-star who could match his speed during comic sequences. She didn't just react — she threw back improvised lines, forcing him to up his game. Their banter in Dulhe Raja (1998) is a masterclass in rapid-fire comedy.
• The success of their pairing in Aunty No. 1 (1998) directly inspired a wave of 'disguise comedies' in the late 90s — where the hero or heroine pretends to be someone else for laughs. That film's plot (Govinda pretending to be an aunt) was copied in at least three regional remakes.
