Bandish(1996)
Bandish is a 1996 Indian Hindi-language romantic thriller film directed by Prakash Jha. The film stars Jackie Shroff in a dual role as Ramgulam and Kishan, alongside Juhi Chawla as Kanta and Paresh Rawal as Rangaswami. The story follows Kanta, a village girl who travels to Mumbai to find her missing lover Ramgulam, only to encounter his criminal lookalike Kishan. The film is a loose adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities. It was produced by Prakash Jha Productions and released on 23 February 1996. The film received negative reviews and was a commercial failure at the box office.

Storyline
A village girl named Kanta loves an honest man named Ramgulam. When he goes to Mumbai to pay off debts and disappears, she follows him. In the city, she meets a cruel thief who looks exactly like her lover. She must figure out who is real before it is too late.
