Badlapur is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language crime thriller film directed by Sriram Raghavan. It stars Varun Dhawan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi, and Yami Gautam. The story follows Raghu, a man whose wife and son are killed during a bank robbery. He spends fifteen years hunting the second robber to exact revenge. The film is based on the Italian novel Death's Dark Abyss by Massimo Carlotto. It was shot in Pune and at Nashik Jail. The film received positive reviews for its performances and dark tone. It grossed approximately ₹103 crore worldwide. The soundtrack, composed by Sachin–Jigar, became popular, especially the song 'Jeena Jeena'. The film was nominated for several Filmfare Awards including Best Film and Best Actor.
