Trivia
- The film's title 'Pathinaaru' refers to the age of sixteen, a key theme in the coming-of-age story within the movie.
- Director Saba Kailash is the son of veteran Tamil director Kailash, making this a rare father-son directorial lineage in the industry.
- The movie is an adaptation of the popular Tamil novel 'Pathinaaru' written by Sujatha, a celebrated author and screenwriter.
- It features a dual narrative, switching between a modern-day romance and a period village love story from the past.
- The film's soundtrack was composed by debutant music director Sathish, who was relatively unknown at the time.
- Despite its romantic genre, the film performed modestly at the box office and did not gain wide theatrical recognition.
- A key plot device is a handwritten book, which serves to connect the two separate love stories across different generations.
