• Pandi and Black Pandi first teamed up for Lee (2007) because the director, who was also named Pandi, wanted an actor with a raw, street-smart vibe. Black Pandi was a stunt coordinator before this — Lee was his first major acting break, and Pandi (the actor) personally vouched for him to the director.
• In Paagan (2012), Pandi played the intense, brooding lead while Black Pandi played his loyal sidekick. The trick? Black Pandi would deliberately mess up his lines during rehearsals to make Pandi laugh and loosen up before intense scenes. Pandi later said that chaos helped him stay natural on camera.
