Sabapathy Dekshinamurthy, known professionally as Saba Kailash or S. D. Saba, was an Indian film director who worked primarily in the Tamil film industry from 1992 until his death on 26 December 2024. He made his directorial debut with Bharathan (1992), starring Vijayakanth and Bhanupriya, and went on to direct films including Punnagai Poove (2003), a romantic drama, and Pathinaaru (2011), a romantic drama he also wrote. He trained at the M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute (formerly Adyar Film Institute) and expanded into Telugu cinema with Pandem (2005). His filmography of over ten features spans action, romance, and comedy genres, including VIP (1997) with Prabhu Deva and Simran, and the thriller Naam (2003) starring Prakash Raj.
