Full Plot

Varmam opens with a shocking murder. A person dressed as a transgender kills a pimp in the middle of the night. Then a beauty parlour owner is killed in her own shop. The police are confused. They have no leads.

Meanwhile, a young woman named Vidya falls in love with Siva, a hardware engineer. Their romance is sweet and simple. But Siva has a dark secret. One day, a textile shop owner named Kishore peeps at Siva's neighbour in a changing room. He blackmails her and forces her to come to his house that night. Siva finds out. He saves the woman and kills Kishore. The police now know Siva is the killer. Siva runs.

The police travel to Siva's remote village. They meet his parents, Chidambaram and his mother. The parents are shocked. They tell the police everything about Siva's past.

In the past, Siva lived happily with his parents and his younger sister Nandhini. Nandhini left the village to study in the city. She stayed in a hostel. Her roommate and the roommate's boyfriend Kishore found Nandhini attractive. They sold her to a pimp named Swamy. Swamy ran a sex trafficking ring. He forced Nandhini to sleep with many men. He planned to sell her to a powerful politician.

Siva came to the city with birthday gifts for Nandhini. He went to her hostel but she was not there. He left disappointed. That same night, Nandhini was in a car with a customer. She escaped half-naked. Swamy and the driver chased her. She ran through dark streets. She tried to climb a fence but fell onto sharp iron spikes. She died impaled. Siva saw everything from a passing bus.

Siva did not call the police. He picked up his sister's broken body and burned it. That night, he became a vigilante. He killed the driver first. Then the beauty parlour owner. Then Kishore. Each murder was planned. Each murder was personal.

Siva's next target was Swamy. But Swamy had become a corrupt politician. The police arrested him but the court released him. Siva did not give up. He kidnapped Swamy and took him to the place where he cremated Nandhini. There, Siva killed Swamy. The film ends with Siva standing over Swamy's body, alone with his grief.

Corruption

Swamy starts as a pimp but becomes a politician. The police arrest him but the court releases him. Money and power protect criminals. Siva has to fight the system itself to get justice.

How does it end?

Ending Explained

The ending of Varmam is dark and emotional. Siva kidnaps Swamy, the man who sold his sister into sex trafficking. He takes Swamy to the exact spot where he cremated Nandhini's body. This place is sacred to Siva. It is where his sister's ashes rest. Siva forces Swamy to face what he did. Then he kills Swamy. There is no long fight. No dramatic speech. Just a quiet, brutal end. After Swamy dies, Siva stands alone. He has killed everyone who hurt his sister. But his sister is still gone. He cannot bring her back. The film does not show Siva getting arrested or escaping. It shows him standing in silence. The message is clear: revenge does not heal grief. It only leaves you more alone. The director leaves the audience with a feeling of emptiness, not victory.
