Trivia

  • This was the only Tamil film directed by Cochin Haneefa, who was better known as a popular actor and director in Malayalam cinema.
  • The film's music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja, but it did not produce any major hit songs, which was unusual for his work in that era.
  • Actress Radha played the lawyer Lakshmi, a role that was a shift from her common romantic heroine parts of the time.
  • The courtroom drama plot was considered an early attempt in Tamil cinema to focus heavily on a legal procedure within a family conflict.
  • The film's title 'Paasa Paravaigal' translates to 'Trap Birds,' symbolizing the characters caught in a web of suspicion.
  • It featured veteran actor Sivakumar in a key role, continuing his series of family-oriented drama films during the late 1980s.
  • Despite its serious theme, the film included comedy scenes by actors like Goundamani, which was a typical mix for Tamil dramas then.
