• Mohan and Sivakumar first shared screen space in 'Ayiram Muthangal' (1982) because the director, A. Jagannathan, specifically wanted a pair that looked like real-life brothers — and they did, so much so that audiences often mistook them for siblings off-screen.
• In 'Naan Paadum Padal' (1984), Sivakumar played the older, wiser brother figure while Mohan played the impulsive younger one — and they deliberately swapped their real-life age gap (Sivakumar was 13 years older) to make the tension feel more natural. Mohan later said Sivakumar would slow down his dialogue delivery so Mohan's reactions could land first.
• Their 1984 film 'Unnai Naan Santhithaen' was the first Tamil movie to feature a then-unknown composer named Ilaiyaraaja — and the soundtrack became a cult hit, directly launching his career in Tamil cinema. Without this pairing, that debut might never have happened.

• Mohan once told a fan magazine in 1989: 'Sivakumar sir didn't just act with me — he taught me how to hold a pause. In 'Ayiram Muthangal', he made me wait three seconds before my line in the climax scene. That pause made the whole theatre cry.'
