The story follows Anthony, a powerful goon with a criminal past, who protects a young couple fleeing from a wealthy and cruel brother. The narrative explores themes of sacrifice, redemption, and the cost of love. The film was a major commercial success, running for over 175 days in theatres. It was remade in Telugu as Dharma Teja in the same year. The music, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, became popular, and Radhika won the Cinema Express Award for Best Actress. The film was released on 10 June 1988.

Storyline
