Ingeyum Oru Gangai is a 1984 Indian Tamil-language romance film directed by Manivannan and produced by P. Kalaimani. The film stars Murali as Kathamuthu, a cow thief, and Tara as Maruthayi, a village girl who falls in love with him. Chandrasekhar plays Maruthayi's disabled husband. The story follows a love triangle set in a rural Tamil village, where a young man must overcome his criminal past and social rejection to win his love. The film is notable for being built around five previously unused songs by composer Ilaiyaraaja. It was a commercial success upon its release on 10 August 1984.

Storyline

A village cow thief named Kathamuthu falls in love with Maruthayi after saving her cow. He promises to change his ways and find a real job. But her father refuses to let them marry. Kathamuthu leaves for the city to earn respect. When he returns, he finds Maruthayi married to another man. He must decide how far he will go to win her back.
