Rosaappo Ravikkai Kaari(1979)
Rosappu Ravikkaikari (1979) is a Tamil historical romance film directed by Devaraj–Mohan. It stars Sivakumar, Deepa, and Sivachandran in lead roles, with Vinu Chakravarthy and R. Nagarathnamma in supporting parts. Set in British-ruled India, the story follows Sembattayan, a naive betel leaf seller, and his modern wife Nandhini, whose extramarital affair leads to tragedy. The film is a remake of the Kannada film Parasangada Gendethimma and is based on a novella by Srikrishna Alanahalli. It marked Sivakumar's 100th film as an actor and the debut of screenwriter Vijay Krishnaraj and actor Vinu Chakravarthy in Tamil cinema. The music by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by R. N. K. Prasad were widely praised. The film received critical acclaim and became a commercial success, running for over 100 days. Sivakumar won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Tamil for his performance. It was released on 18 May 1979.

Storyline
A poor, illiterate betel leaf seller named Sembattayan marries Nandhini, an educated and modern woman. She struggles to adjust to village life and begins an affair with a British agent. Sembattayan's blind trust in his wife leads to devastating consequences for everyone involved.
