Vayasu Ponnu(1978)
Vayasu Ponnu is a 1978 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed and edited by K. Shankar. The cast includes R. Muthuraman, Jai Ganesh, Latha, and Roja Ramani. The story follows an orphaned adolescent girl raised by her elder sister. She becomes attracted to hippie culture and faces stalking, sexual violence, and social rejection. The film is based on the novel Love Birds by Manian, serialised in Ananda Vikatan. It was released on 2 September 1978 and failed commercially. Despite this, lyricist Muthulingam won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Lyricist for the song 'Kaanchi Pattuduththi'. The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan.

Storyline
