Piriya Vidai(1975)
Piriya Vidai is a 1975 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Srikanth and produced by L. V. Prasad under Prasad Productions. The film stars R. Muthuraman and Prameela in lead roles. It is a remake of the 1970 Telugu film Thalla? Pellama?, written by N. T. Rama Rao. The story follows a man torn between his wife and his mother, exploring the emotional conflict of divided loyalty within a traditional family. A set costing ₹3 lakh was built for the production. The film was released on 15 August 1975 and failed commercially, with producer L. V. Prasad attributing the failure to the story being unsuitable for Tamil audiences and miscasting.
