Jakkamma(1972)
Jakkamma is a 1972 Indian Tamil-language Western film directed and filmed by M. Karnan. The film stars Savitri as the title character, alongside Jaishankar and S. A. Ashokan. The story follows a village woman who loses her husband to a bandit and raises her two sons to seek justice. The film blends the Western genre with Tamil family drama and revenge themes. It was produced by Vijaya Chitra Films and released on 14 September 1972. The soundtrack was composed by S. M. Subbaiah Naidu. Film historian Swarnavel Eswaran compared the title character to Sita and Draupadi for her suffering and vow of vengeance.

Storyline
A peaceful village is terrorised by a cruel robber named Kali. When Kali murders her husband, Jakkamma raises her two sons alone and vows revenge. She teaches them to fight for justice. But Kali kidnaps her. Her sons befriend a kind fighter named Jambu and together they rescue her. In the final battle, Jakkamma kills Kali and frees the village.
