The story follows Goddess Shakti as she descends to Earth in multiple forms to protect her devotees from the demon Vaana Sooran and a cruel king. The film weaves together several subplots involving devotees like Poonguzhali, Thangam, and Sage Jamadagni. It is noted for being the last multi-starrer mythological film in Tamil cinema.
