Thulabaram(1969)
Thulabaram is a 1969 Tamil-language drama film directed by A. Vincent. The film stars Sharada, A. V. M. Rajan, and Sheela in lead roles. It follows Vijaya, a woman whose life collapses after her father dies from a court case loss. She marries a trade union leader who is killed during a strike. Left destitute, she kills her starving children and is sentenced to death by her childhood friend turned lawyer. The film is a remake of the 1968 Malayalam film of the same name. It won the National Film Award for Best Actress for Sharada. The movie is known for its raw portrayal of poverty and injustice. It was released in theatres on an unspecified date in 1969.

Storyline
Vijaya loses her father after a court case goes wrong. She is forced to marry Ramu, a union leader. Ramu is killed during a strike. Vijaya becomes a poor widow with two hungry children. Desperation drives her to commit an unthinkable act. She is arrested and prosecuted by her former best friend Vatsala.
