Panam Padaithavan is a 1965 Indian Tamil-language family drama film directed by T. R. Ramanna. The film stars M. G. Ramachandran as Raja, an athlete, alongside Sowcar Janaki, K. R. Vijaya, and Nagesh. The story follows Raja who falls in love with a poor servant girl, Shanti, but is forced to marry a rich woman, Rama, to secure his brother's marriage. The film explores themes of sacrifice, class division, and family secrets, including a hidden caste identity and a past smuggling operation. It was produced by R. R. Pictures and written by Sakthi T. K. Krishnasamy. The film was a commercial success, running for over 100 days in theatres, and was later dubbed in Telugu as Kaala Chakkaram.

Storyline
